The Lab’s work is overseen by a Steering Committee composed of around 15 experts and institutions from Africa, Latin America, and Asia. Its members include representatives from think tanks in the developing world and independent experts.

The committee meets regularly to manage operations, prioritising originality, efficient representation of developing countries' interests, quality of output, and global influence.
