Alice Mevel

Senior Economist

Alice is a Senior Economist at the Finance for Development Lab, where her work focuses on energy and the fiscal risks of infrastructure investment in low-income countries. She is also a PhD candidate in economics at the Paris School of Economics. Her research examines the barriers to and effects of electricity expansion in Sub-Saharan Africa, and the role of renewables in it. Before joining the Lab, she was Impact Manager at Gaia Impact, a venture fund investing in clean-energy access companies in Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. She also spent four years at CITIZING Consulting, working on the evaluation of public policies and investments for French institutions.
