Hamouda Chekir is a founding member of the Finance for Development Lab. He is a sovereign debt specialist with a 15-year track record in emerging markets debt restructuring processes. He has assisted countries navigate through the HICPC initiative, the 2009 financial crisis, the Eurozone crisis, the Arab Spring and most recently the Covid-19 crisis.

Hamouda ‘s experiences include Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. Hamouda is a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School MPA/ID programme, the Paris School of Economics and the Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l’Administration Economique.
